ghost employees in KMC education dept sacked

 Sindh Minister for Local Government Sharjeel Memon has over 1,841 employees services ghosts in the education department of the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC).

The minister also suspended 37 town municipal officials and city officials for not depositing six-month data from the accounts of their respective peoples.

Mr. Memon told Dawn that the dismissal of a large number of ghost employees, who were in different stages of grade 1-17, the KMC would save 600 million rupees a year.

In the second phase, he said, the ghosts of other departments of the KMC, district municipal corporations and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board employees would be laid off and were preparing their lists.

In response to a question, he said that so far 56,000 employees have opened their accounts with the Bank of Sindh, according to the new biometric system, as the July 1 any employee of the LG institution could draw his salary of any other bank .

The minister said that employees who could not get their accounts in the Bank of Sindh would be laid off in a week or so.

Ghosts 1841 employees enrolled in the education department of KMC in different degrees, and despite repeated warnings not to report to work for long.

Mr. Memon also directed the KMC administrator to submit a report within 15 days on the hiring of ghost employees and officials who appointed so that cases could be instituted against them by establishing anti-corruption.

Most of the dismissed employees were appointed as primary school teachers. They were receiving regular salary without performing his duty and, finally, the government decided to terminate his services.

Referring to the completion of 37 theaters of military operations, the minister said he did not follow orders regarding details of deposit accounts six months of their peoples.

Mr Memon said suspended TMOs under the 2000 Ordinance removal service with the warning that they would be fired if no deposit account details.

Before, he said, these officers show-cause notices were issued on June 22 and June 27 to provide the details of the accounts, but did not. They did not present the details and finally, they had been suspended.

The TMOs suspension are: Amir Ali Bhutto (branch Admn), Faisal Hasan Daheri (branch Admn), Abdul Rasool Khoso (Sakrand), Syed Muhammad Ali Shah (branch Admn), Mian Imran Andhair (Sualehput), Khalid Khan Kharoosh and Waqar Ahmed (Obaro), Syed Hasan Javed Shah (Pano Aqil) Khaliq Ahmed Agha Khan Durrani and Syed Ahsan Ali Shah (Sohbo Dero), Amjad Ali Agha Pathan (Ghari Khero), Manzoor Hussain Samejo, Gada Hussain Zardari and Shafqat (Jhaddo) Baghan Khan Nandwani (Tangwani), Liaquat Ali Bhatti and Abid Ali Khoso (Manjhand), Amar Lal Akarani and Ahmed Ali Magsi (Hala), Iqtedar Ali Mehboob Ali Jafri and Bariri (Shaheed Benaziabad), Shaikh Abdul Hameed (Diplo ), and Sehar Muhammad Majid Anwar Ibrahim Umrani (Tando Adam) Panhiyar and Ejaz Ahmed Waheed Mallah (Mero Khan), Anisur Rehman Sayal (DMC-Korangi), Zahoor Ahmed Lakhan (Naushero Feroz), Syed Ejaz Ali Shah (Malir) Hameedullah Ayaz Baloch (Malir) Alamghir Junejo (Sanjharo), Mehtab Ali Khawaja (Samaro), Fayyaz Ali Shah and Syed Haider Ali Shah, Syed Ali Mughari, Zainul Abideen Malik (Kunri) and Azizur Rehman Tunio.

The minister also said the government will not tolerate corruption and ghost employees in the department of local government and all the corrupt official or employee would be taken to task.
